Modern Slavery Statement
Dolan Developments
Last reviewed: 1 August 2025
Dolan Developments is committed to preventing modern slavery and human trafficking in all areas of our business and supply chains. We recognise our responsibility to take a proactive approach to tackling these issues, particularly given the risks associated with the construction sector.
Our Business
Dolan Developments is a construction company based in Greater Manchester, providing services including home extensions, loft conversions, new builds, and full design and build solutions. We operate across Manchester and Cheshire, serving both residential and private clients.
Our Commitment
We are committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all our operations. We do not tolerate slavery, servitude, forced or compulsory labour, or human trafficking in any part of our business or supply chains. We are also committed to improving our practices to identify and mitigate the risk of modern slavery wherever possible.
Supply Chains
Our supply chains are primarily based in the UK and include subcontractors, materials suppliers, and service providers. While we consider the overall risk to be low, we acknowledge that construction can carry a higher risk of labour exploitation, particularly through subcontracted or casual labour.
We aim to work with suppliers and subcontractors who share our commitment to fair working practices. Where appropriate, we expect them to have their own policies and procedures in place to prevent modern slavery.
Due Diligence
Although we are a small business and not legally required to publish a modern slavery statement under section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015, we voluntarily commit to the following actions:
- Checking the legitimacy of new subcontractors and suppliers before engagement
- Encouraging open communication with workers and labour providers
- Avoiding informal or undocumented employment practices
- Reviewing potential risks where labour is sub-contracted through third parties
Training and Awareness
Given the size of our team, formal training is not currently in place. However, we raise awareness among staff and subcontractors about the signs of modern slavery and how to report concerns, and we will continue to strengthen this approach as we grow.
Reporting Concerns
We encourage anyone working with or for Dolan Developments to report any concerns related to modern slavery or unethical labour practices. Reports can be made confidentially to Matthew Dolan at info@dolandevelopmentsmcr.co.uk.
Ongoing Improvement
We are committed to continually reviewing and improving our approach. As our business develops, we will implement additional steps to strengthen our risk management, due diligence, and supplier assurance processes.
This statement has been approved by the Director of Dolan Developments and will be reviewed annually.
